These photos give you an idea of the results of floods wich Verdun was subject to before the dam along the waterfront was built. The dam had to be hightened at different ocasions as originally it was not high enough to resist the floods. Guy (ARCHIVES SHGV)

Great History lesson GUY ,.....it must be fun ,to have all those books at your disposal,.........When I make a trip to Montreal ,(not i the plans yet),....I will make a point of visiting SHGV,.........I have not been in that building since the early 70's,but I think spending sometime in there ,(archives section,) would be a real experience: Thanks for the info & pictures,......I have saved these ,hope you dojn't mind?
