Did you know there was an electrical tramway inside the corridors of
St. Jean De Dieu Hospital? Also rare pictures of trains and street
cars from many years ago.
I have a PPS attachment I could send to anyone interested and maybe
they could post them on Verdun Connections. Unfortunately I do not
have that ability with my operating system.

Second Avenue, please send this powerpoint file to ralphpiercey@hotmail.com and I will try to post some pictures. Where was/is this hospital? I have heard of Hotel Dieu hospital, but not St Jean De Dieu. m.p.u.
Not sure where the hospital is located.S.A.Exerpted from the below articlehttp://www.freedommag.org/english/vol37i1/page06.htmJoseph Martin was 5 1/2 years old in 1938 when his parents, promised he would receive a good education, placed him in Montreal’s Buisonnet Institute. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to St. Jean de Dieu, where he remained until 1956.Upon his arrival at St. Jean de Dieu, Martin said, he and other young people were stripped of personal belongings, including jewelry, clothing, pictures of cherished relatives, money and identification.
For some reason something in the back of my mind says that St Jean de Dieu was the french mental hospital.
Second Avenue, there are some great photos on this site you sent me...here is the ''hospital train''............... ............thanks, m.p.u.
Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine Hospital is the new name for St. Jean de Dieu - seems to me it was in the east end around Hochelaga.
