You're right about the rising cost of sporting events. To go to a Bruins/Sox/Patriots game with the family nowadays, is almost unthinkable, and that is if you can get tickets! This strike may end up costing the players more in the long run though. I think some of the expansion teams will find it difficult to get the crowds back at the area's now that people have found substitutes for the "Hockey Nights". Maybe we are headed back to the original six again! Being the devout NASCAR fan, I was at the races in Loudon, New Hampshire a couple of weeks ago. We were on the start/finish line about 45 rows up, in the shade underneath the press boxes with a view of the entire track. Probably some of the best seats in the place $45 for the Busch race on Saturday and $110 for the Cup race on Sunday with about 120,000 people in attendance! The tickets might seem high priced, but I don't think there is another sport that lets you bring in your cooler with beer or soda and food. That really cuts down the overall cost.

I never was one for going to the games much, but I do like to watch the games on the tube. And I love my Habs.
