THANKS for stopping by, I do my best to acknowledge when someone leaves a comment, you do not have to be a member here & everyone is welcome.
Ps: This site is monitored but not actively posting on a regular basis. Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.
I'm sorry but that isn't necessarily the case. I'm guessing that you haven't come to the home page of the group and clicked a link on the left of the page titled "member info"...where you can find at least 4 PAGES full of much more than just first names? Try that.
Muppet you may go to the members photo album. You will see some people that want people to know what they look like now. You can post your's if your not shy. Steve

Okay, thx. So far am enjoying the site. I never was really very much a part of Verdun even though I went to school there and was born there. We lived in Cote St. Paul all through my childhood and teenage years but I did hang out with some nice people from Verdun. I would sure love to connect with some of them again. I love looking at the old photos of the town. It sure brings back good memories. My mom always used to take me down Wellington Street shopping. I can still picture the corner of Church Ave and Wellington Street. Gagnons (how I hated it when my my mom took me in there it was always so hot inside and very borning to me) I love the 5 & 10 down the street much better. (and the yummy cakes from Main's bakery)
Here you go a free visit in time.......Gagnons first ......ok now the 5-10-15 ( Marshalls) .......Now I can't post a picture of your Mother & Mains,.......but How about my Mother & Mains... ..........and here's a question for you since you lived in Cote St Paul,.....did you know the RourkeFrew's,..........or a family named Rennie(sp?).........lots of kids in both those family's.........but I knew the rourkefrews better..................HF&RV (&CstP)
Oh yes! I knew the Rourke-Frews well. Emily & Elaine, the twins were in my class at Connaught School in Grade 1 & 2. They were my friends. I also knew the Rennies. Brenda, she was mean to me, stole my leather helmet hat at a Y dance.
Hello Muppett,......I think it went Anne,Brenda,Claudia,Diane,Elaine & Emily,.Fay, & a brother named John (I think,.there are some of our other members who know the family as well....... .........the background must be familiar to you.........this is the twins older sisters wedding........I had a picture of Rory & Marie (the parents) two of the nicest people you want to meet............HF&RV(&CstP)
I see their old house in the picture. I didn't know the older sisters. I just knew the twins and Fay. But didn't they move away sometime in the early sixties because I remember a different family moved into that house. The Meade's. Dorothy and I were reallly good friends. I could swear that the Mead's moved into the Rourke Frew house sometime around 1963 or 64.
I met Jim Mead and his wife down here in Lower Sackville a number of years ago he had a seafood restaurant for awhile. I asked where they were from as I didn't know them and when he said Angers Street it was like old home week! Small world. His sister last year worked at our local Wallmart. do you know the Butlers? The house with the enclosed porch in the picture is where my friend Carol Finlayson lived in the late 50's to mid 60's. ....Dianne
Hi...I don't know if Jim has a daughter. I didn't know the Meads when I lived in Montreal and I left there in 1972. I am a few years older than him. I knew Claudia Rourkfrewe. Next time I speak to my brothers Randy and Lindsay I'll ask them if they remember the Meads. dianne
I just realized that Dorothy would be Jim's sister not Dad. The dad would probably be really old now or passed away. I knew Claudia too because I was friends with her twin sisters.
I happened to be looking at a site the other day, and saw the names Claudia and Dianne Rourke-Frew who appeared to work at Royal Vale School on Somerled Street in N.D.G., so perhaps they are both still in Montreal. Claudia attended Connaught School at the same time as me. Cheers, Linda
Thanks Les. I was mistaken by the appearance of the houses in the pic. The cottages are of the same models as those built in Crawford Park. Angers St. seems to be in both C척te-St-Paul and Ville Emard. JM

Hi Les ! I wonder on which street the photo (June 1958) of the wedding was taken in Crawford Park. Was it Cl챕menceau St. ? JM
Hi JMH , the picture was taken in Cote st Paul /Ville Emard.......it was on Anger St.....
Thanks Les. I was mistaken by the appearance of the houses in the pic. The cottages are of the same models as those built in Crawford Park. Angers St. seems to be in both C척te-St-Paul and Ville Emard. JM
