I believe the first at St. Thomas More was Mr. Malloy and the VP was Mr. Doyle.VCHS was either Bro. Philip the 1st year or Bro. Martin , I think. Mr. Hyland was the VP if memory serves correct. The 1st year at VCHS WAS KIND OF HECTIC SINCE THE SCHOOL WAS NOT READY ON TIME, we kept showing up and they told us to go home . Also for a time during that year we would split classes either go in for the morning or the afternoon until the school was finally completed. Those days are kinda of blurry now so I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong . The one thing I do remember very clearly was the first day that hockey practice was called over the intercom and they told us it was at the Montreal Forum , I think every guy in the school went out for the team just to skate on the Forum ice !!

I remeber Mr. Malloy but with Mrs. Courtney as vice. Then Mrs.Macavoy (i think) became principal. She had taught my mother. If me mom was alive Id confirm the name. Im not that sure on the name. I do remember Mrs. Courtney as vice cause she hated me. Lucky for me Mr. Malloy was born in the same part of Ireland as my grandma....He looked out for me.LOL. I don't remember a mr. Doyle. I had Mrs. Doyle as a teacher there.

Hi, Mr Doyal was Principal of Saint Willibrord Boys in the Early 60's when the Sisters left the boys school. Mrs Cortney was Vice Principal for a while in the early 60's before she went to St.Thomas Moore. Mrs Courtney was replaced by Mr. Gaffeny who later went to LCHS. Mr Doyal was at Willibrord until he retired as far as I know. Mr. Robichauld was a teacher and Gym teacher at Willibrord and then principal at St.Thomas Moore. Brother Philip was principal of the boys at VCHS in the late 60's and then the 70's. Sister Johnson was principal of the girls. And Mr.David was Dean of Discipline at that time. Mr Clements who was also a teacher at Saint Willibrord before he was teaching at VCHS was also Dean of Discipline after Mr.David. Does all this sound right to you Les, you were there for most of this time also. Dannyb-

Hey Dannyb ...I am fairly certain that just prior to Bro Philip there was Bro Augustine (or Augustus)  as the head Wacko for VCHS  ( I watched that Nutbar put the Boots to a student in the Cafeteria )  He actually had to lift his 'Floor Length Gown' to get some good kicking action in................hahahahaha   ..Ahhhhhhh  wasn't discipline grand.............hahahahahaha

Mrs. Courtney was my 7th grade teacher in 1960 .You had to call her " Mam " ,she was in the Army before teaching. When she taught us she had a cane and could corral around the neck with that thing. She also liked to give the strap and if you flinched or pulled your hand away you would get it twice as much. Had alot of experierce with the strap but always tried to keep still.I did learn that year though !!!! Bro. Augustine was another story but I will bet you any member of this group that had him for world history will remember 1066 the Battle of Hastings !!!!

The principal at St/ Thomas More was Miss Irene McElroy, and the Vice-Principal at one point was Mrs. Mantha. This would have been around 1962 and is based on if my memory is correct.

Hi Heather,

Where is your brother Ronnie at these days. I haven't had contact with him in probably 25 years! Give him my regards and encourage him to join in!

Hey Les, I guess we agree that the Catholic Schools at the time when we were there were abusive by today's standered. The teachers and principals had no problem with kicking ass. And we were all scared to tell our parents. Dannyb.  That is the schools we went to.

Hi Al, how is the family doing. Danny

Hi Danny,

Everyone is well...except me that is... I have a nasty case of poison sumac or oak. It got really inflamed and due to the antibiotics I am on, it really put a damper on celebrating the 4th! Maybe I'll have to try and celebrate with a 5th on the 7th!

Miss Blancheterre was Principal at St. Thomas More in 1959-60 & Miss Mantha was then VP. Miss Mantha then became Principal. This was on the girls side. Mr. Malloy was the Principal on the boys side. He drove me to school in the AM. Miss Blazes was my first grade teacher.
