I posted Lisa's URL because I thought it would be of interest to Verdunites who have moved on from humble beginnings to realize their dreams. I personally realized my aspirations of spending my life at sea.
When I was a toddler on Second Avenue, my dear departed mother would take me on her loving knee and point out with apparent pride the bearded sailor on the Exports cigarette package. She told me it was a picture of my maternal grandfather. There is an old faded photograph of my grandfather sailor. Actually there was an amazing similarity both in appearance and job description.
However I never had the experience of meeting him in person, he died in England before I was born.
Anyway life's map was set in place for me from the beginning. No regrets; I had a dream which I followed.
I was born on an island and will complete my life on an island. In this case it is Hawaii. It was all meant to be.

Maybe it was the Payers cigarette package? Maybe Les could dig up a picture of this image. That would be great.
