Second Ave Gang
All: Just talked to Tommy Mullins in Ville LaSalle and Maurice Bertrand in New Mexico and all is well and healthy with them. Talked to Eddy Gibbons in BC and he is still kicking. Pat Leonard
I don't know who Eddy Gibbons is, although I am sure he shares my opinion that Gibbons Avenue in Verdun is not a true reflection of this honourable name. Gord Gibbons Brampton, Ontario
With all due respect,........how was this name ,been seen lessthan honorable ( sp?).......I guess I missed something ...................and couldn't find referance to it ,in the preceeding posts hf&rv
GIBBONS AVE.: In honor of Alderman John W. Gibbons, representing Ward no. 1. From Messager centennial issue publication commemorating the 100th anniversary of Verdun, 1876 - 1976. ARCHIVES SHGV
Actually Les, I offered it in jest - guess it didn't work. I believe that Gibbons Avenue is the shortest inhabited street in Verdun - assuming it still exists. Guy, thanks for the history. Th Alderman John Gibbons is of no relation. He may be related to Eddy Gibbons! Gord Gibbons
