Yes Thank You,Guy, I would appreciate any additional information, here's a bit from an Ottawa Paper last Ostover2005, mentioning his upcoming book,......I see it published through UBC here on the Coast,.so I will investigate & see if his new book is also available through Our local Library here,........(I'll check online a bit later),........ He holds a PhD from McGill University and is the author of Lest We Forget, a history of the Last Post Fund of Canada. A book to be published in the spring of 2006 by by the University of British Columbia Press will explore the effects of the Second World War on the city and inhabitants of Verdun, Qu챕bec it seems his grandfather served VerdunProudly & was wounded in his efforts,... Professor Durflinger's grandfather, L챕opold Ste-Marie (1886-1963), enlisted in the 167th Infantry Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force in September 1916. He served at the front in the ranks of the 22nd (French-Canadian) Battalion, the famous "Van Doos." He was wounded in 1917 and returned to front-line duty.
.............Front Line Duty, was no piece of cake in any War,......but especially so in WWI...........................this guy would be an interesting person to hear,I wish I could attend,...but I will be happy with reading the book:

Professor Serge Durflinger held the presentation last evening at the Centre Culturel de Verdun of his new book: Fighting From Home: The Second World War in Verdun, Quebec. The evening was a great success and the Hall was full as shown on enclosed photos. I was privilaged to meet Serge Durflinger and happy to learn that he was one of the founders of the SHGV back in 1994 and that a lot of his research was done there. He sold out all of the 50 books he had on hand however we were given an order form so that we can order directly from the publisher (form enclosed). Guy
