family history
I am looking for information about my parents (George Luker and Janet (Jane) Cunningham) in their school days. If there is anyone who knows them from their school days that is still alive I would appreciate hearing from you.
did your mom and dad play at the blue angel and your brother george also played with them my brother allan johnston knew you guys if its the same family.
George Luker played at St Clements Church for a fund raiser in the early 60's) I was in Cub's then. I believe they were related somehow to McNaugton or Main. My (step) grandmother knew them. I seem to remember visiting them on 2nd or 4th avenue. If this is the same family, i can ask my Mom, Reita, about them Bill (Willie) McKiernon
Bessie Mcnaughton is your grandmother? I have more than one brother, I have two brothers, one is named George, he's the oldest, then comes Jimmy, then me. If you were refering to my brother Jimmy when you mentioned great aunt, I'm not exactly sure of that because what I was told was that Bessie is my grandmother's cousin. Bessie would be are 3rd cousin.
Okay, I just knew for sure that there was a family link there. Bessie McNaughton married my grandfather (mom's dad) when I was a baby. She passed away a few years ago, well into her 90's.
your right Willie you do have the right family, we lived at 382 Second Ave until June of 1982, then moved to 191 Fourth Ave. in July 1982. Thanks for the piece of info that you had written I was unaware of that. That must have been before I was born.
regarding the relation to your (step) grandmother, yes we are related Bessie McNaughton is my grandmother's cousin, so if my figuring is right you and your siblings are 5th cousins to us.
Were your parents friends of Edith and Bud Earle? I lived upstairs over Edith and Bud on Riverview and I recall the name of the Luker's coming up in conversation and attending parties that my folks had. Don't remember the first names though. If they are the same folks Edith is still living at the same place on Riverview
Hi Cubbie(Joan), The Earle's had a daughter Betty who went to VHS. They lived across the street from my sister-in-law Shirley Melanson(Gill) and Dave Melanson. Dave still lives on Riverview 702 with his son David. Shirley passed away in 1999. Reggie Paine

"Grandma Bessie" McNaughton/Lummis/Main was Jimmy's great aunt as I remember. Are you still there Brian?
