Verdun Connections Announcement - Verdun Connections Revival

The Verdun Connections Revival announcement was intended to help those people that had lost their way to VC find their way back. It was not intended to open old animosities. I would like to feel free to post and read messages as all other members are free to do. My intention in beginning this group was to help people (including myself) find old friends and acquaintances. I didn't anticipate that I would be viewed as "the establishment" and be a target for disenchanted members to throw mud at.

I will continue to "moderate" VC as I have since it's beginning. Although it is primarily for the purpose of finding people, members are free to post messages on any topic they feel comfortable with. Attacks against other members, solicitations, pornography, racism and anything else that is offensive will be deleted. I do my best to be fair. That's all I can offer. I have counted on Les_F to share the load and he has not let me down. I hope you all will continue to participate and keep making those "Verdun Connections". The most important part of this group is the members!

"Expo" 17

Well Expo 67 was a resounding success,.i wonder if in this day & age,.of high prices re: construction costs,.land values,.....etc etc .......but if the plan is well thought out & not just a Nostalgic Attempt to recapture the Past,.then maybe it would Have Some Merit,...........???  What do you think??

Group wants another Expo in Montreal

An independent group thinks Montreal can pull off the huge success of Expo 67 again for the occasion of Canada's 150th anniversary.

The group has submitted a proposal to the city of Montreal for it to hold another world's fair in 2017, to be called Expo 17.

Their plan involves using existing Expo grounds at Jean Drapeau Park, the harbourfront at Cite du Havre, as well as parts of the southwest shore of Montreal. It would involve a large-scale cleanup of the St. Lawrence River.

Drawing on surveys conducted among Expo 67 visitors, the group wants to make architecture a big part of Expo 17. Unlike Expo 67, their plan calls for pavilions that are constructed to outlast the exhibition

I don't know what is going on. Your membership was not cancelled by the management. There have been other reports of memberships being cancelled. I'm glad that you (Ron) just re-applied. Anyone else should do the same if their membership gets cancelled. MSN is playing games with us?

Ok ,...We've got the tree down ,...decorations put away, and 2007 is off & running,...............   as much as it's neat to see the Christmas decorations,.

I also like reclaiming the living room...........hahahaha

Sweep up the needles ,.(yup  real tree...) lights out of the windows,.....House Lights stay up under the eaves,..but won't be on till Dec 1st,.. that's always decorating day,,,,,,

Now if you have little kids around ,I can see leaving the tree for a bit,...

(used to be Jan 6th,..I think) Little Christmas........

Easy to find help & encouragement ,when the tree goes up,...but Volunteers get real 'scarce' when it's time to take them down........hahahahaha

Contact List Entries

In response to the temporary loss of Verdun Connections on March 1, 2005, I ask that all members fill in their contact info (especially current email addresses) and keep it up to date. I can save the list on a regular basis to my PC. This way if we ever lose Verdun Connections (hopefully not) everyone can be notified of a replacement group.
