Taxman Takes Bite Out of Pizza (nothing but Dough to be Made)

MONTREAL – A St. Hyacinthe pizzeria is feeling the bite of provincial tax collectors. Hatice Akyol, administrator of Med Pizza, was fined $78,408, and the business itself $33,970, for failing to declare $800,000 in sales between 2002 and 2006. Both pleaded guilty to tax evasion in St. Hyacinthe court.

....WTF a 'guilty plea' ........mea culpa,..on $800,000 of undeclared income,..........that's a spicy meatball !!
I imagine there is a 'little' mark up in the Pizza Pie Game Afterall............lol

It does'nt say if the owners have to pay the taxes on the $800,000 plus the interest aside from the penalties.. These are the rare ones that got caught wich is no doubt a small percentage of the tax evaders..

no it doesn't say that, but I would imagine if they evaded tax's and got caught ,the tax & the fine would almost surely have to be paid.
However in this morning's Gazette ,there is a little story on Crooked Tax Collectors from CRA Maybe a few restaurants will get off the hook if these allegations prove to be true,it seems to have been uncovered while investigating the crooked construction owners in Quebec........
