I grew up in Verdun lived on Egan and 4th Ave then left for the Yukon in 1979 went woodland school up until grade 6 still remember alot of people but I can't figure out who people might be by their user names or profiles maybe I need to ask more. I ended up moving to the Yukon meeting and marrying a girl from Dorval go figure. This is a great site put me back in contact with my many cousins who I have lost contact with over the years. I have family there still and try to go back every couple of years. Anyway I will be 39 in Dec. (no gift necessary) LOL........ and thanks for listening.

Just curious .why did you leave for the Yukon.
John
I was 13 yrs old at the time and my family left for better economy, we hunt and fish and love the outdoors. The Yukon is a great place to be but you never forget your roots!
HI JUST GETTING BACK TO VERDUN CONNECTIONS , ARE YOU STILL IN THE YUKON...IS THE WEATHER COLD THERE ALL YEAR ROUND ?? JOHN TAYLOR
Nope not cold all year round John very warm in the summer in the 30's the winters can be cool but thanks to global warming has been much warmer the last 5 years or so. Colin
I remember you from Woodland school. you were friends with my brother Randy Small.
Wow - I'm 40 but refuse to act that age.
Hey Colin - great thread you started. (Colin is my cousin.)
I lived in Verdun until 1982 when I moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta.
I love the question about the Yukon being cold all the time - some people don't realize that here in northern Alberta we hit temperatures in the high 30's in the summer. I just returned from Antarctica and people asked me why I would go somewhere that is -40C. Well - it's summer there and the coldest it got was +2C.
Would love to hear from anyone else that may know me.

Cheers!

Hey Just wanted to say hello to you both, Len and Colin were all in the same space for the first time in many years, and go figure its all about Verdun. Have a great day Guys Lorna
Colin Black of Miss Mirilla's grade 5 class? This is so cool! My son loves pulling out my old school photos and asking a million questions, or hearing stories about everyone..mostly why we dressed that way Everytime I see one with you in it, I wonder where you disappeared to. Well, now I know. I told my cousin, Bobby Knapp, that I had seen your message posted here and he remembers you as well. It's truly wonderful to know you're out there somewhere and happy! Kathy Knapp
Great to hear from you Kathy I remember Miss Mirilla's class very well the horrible thing is somewhere along the way I lost all my school photos from my Woodland school years and tried to contact people to get copies but ....... I was there from kindergaren to grade six.
Where are you living now? Do you keep in touch with anyone from those days? Really great to hear from you!

Hi Colin and Len, You may remember me from Verdun. I was married to your aunt Sharon. I passed by both your old houses the other day (Egan & Demarchais) and was thinking about those old days. Colin, ask you mom about the time she was watering house plants and the one in the livingroom overflowed and the water poured into the colour TV. Len, just to let you know that I still work with air cadets in Montreal. Last summer I went to London England as a Canadian escort for 2 weeks. Hey guys, please say hi to your families for me.
Of course I remember you very well in fact!! I will say hi to everyone for you......Take Care
Colin
Colin, I have a horrible memory, but if it sticks in my head long enough, I'll get you some copies of the school photos. I'm in Vancouver now, hating the rain but loving the West Coast nonetheless. The only people from Woodland that I still keep in contact with are Randy & Lisa Small. Life moves too fast and we all put off looking for people. If Randy hadn't sent me a link to this site, I wouldn't have even known it existed. Kathy
