Tousignant & Frère

The subject of Tousignant & Frère was brought so I dug into my files and I found this photo. It is undated but is probably from the 40s or 50s. Third ave. is on the left if the rear is towards the river. There's that arch again on the upper lefthand corner wich were prominent in Verdun. Does anybody know when one of the Tousignant was murdered as I will refer to the old Guardians in our archives and come up with the article providing I have a close approximate date as it is very time consuming. (Album No. 24)

Guy it was 1963 or 1964 during the school year and yes he was killed making a night deposit at the Bank of Montreal.I'm thinking the month of october but I wouldn't take it as gospel. Brian

The fellow charged with his killing was a Robert Moran.... the last name is for sure, I'm fairly certain on the last name,...my brother's girlfriend at the time shared the same family name,.However it was no relation, I believe they caught him on the South Shore from what I remember....but who knows ,time has a funny way of distorting memory.....
I do remember walking up to the spot ,where Mr Tousignant was killed, just to see what we could see ,(kids have a morbid curiosity) & an event like that was definitely news.....I moved off of Wellington Street by Nov '68,..so the mid 60's or earlier is a possibility for sure.......

I believe the street to the left is 4th Avenue, Tousignant was on the north side of Wellington, same as Acres & Normadin shoe stores.

Also it was Mr Tousignant who was murdered as was on his way across Wellington to make a deposit at the Bank of Montreal at 4th & Wellington.

mr T must have been murdered in the period 1963 to late 1965 s it was before I left Verdun to join the RCMP. He was walking across the street to make a bank deposit and was shot. Perhaps the Verdun PD can assist or the archives in the library sgtharveywelson@AOL.com

Yes, Tousignant's was on the north side of Wellington, I remember that well, as we bought all our meat there. So that would be Fourth Ave. I seem to think Mr. Tousignant's first name was Yvon. It just came to my mind.

Madeleine,
Thanks for clarifying that point, that the stret on the left of Tousignant & Frère is Fourth Ave.

After reading all these messages I think I'm going to disagree with the time frame. Both my wife and I thought we were 15 years old at the time of the incident,so that would make it 1959 / 1960 ish. Hope we can solve this mystery.
