The symbolic number of 41,000 has been attained on the old site. Is there any possibility of having such a counter on this new site ?

THANKS for stopping by, I do my best to acknowledge when someone leaves a comment,you do not have to be a member here & everyone is welcome. Ps: This site is monitored but not actively posting on a regular basis. Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.

Personally Guy I couldn't care less about a counter, it to me is just a catlyst to post anything & not stick to any theme. I -We did look into it years ago, but as with anything We've done , we way the pro's & con's to doing anything, generally most counters available would have too much access to Our Member's and their info,...(I'm againstt that) ..the general rule of thumb for 'penetration in the market' is that if you get 1% return out of cold marketing then that's good,..I disagree, I don't need to know how many visit the site, You can bet that Multiply is doing that anyway & so did MSN,.that's how they sell advertising,.We have strived over the 6 plus years of Verdun Connections existence to 'avoid' all attempts at commercialising the site in any way,.we are presently subject to ads by Multiply ( which by having a Free site ) that's normal , it's their rules,& that's OK .it's their dime. Really ,would it make a difference to anyone ,if they surfed by & saw a counter saying you are visitor 5 Billion or whatever,in what you were about to read or post.....We've only ruled it out in the past ,because of trying to keep this venue going ,on it's theme of making a Connection with old friends & sharing pics & stories with each other. Success is not measured in Quantity of Visitors, but more in the Quality of Visitors......
That is just my thoughts on the idea,...and We don't ever rule out anything: except Commercialism ,we've always been more apt to keep the site free of any more ads & solicitaions than need be...
BTW: I did an estimate one time using stats from other sites as to 'How Many' people 'hit' the site & we would be in excess of 1.7 million separate hits...Btw: MSN wouldn't answer my query into the actual number ,when I made that request years ago........
Do you know that sites with counters also record more than just a number,......most people don't,know that, & then they wonder why they have so much email......................it's business:

OK no problem, just asking. I do get a count on who's seeing my site so that satisfy me. I've been thinking of joining the PREMIUM option at $19.95 per year partly as gratitude for the free site. What is your thinking on this.

Guy I meant to ad this to the already long previous message,.but the symbolic 41000,.was far surpassed years ago, but not all the messages appear on the site ,due to a number of different reasons,which we've mentioned in the past........There's no accurate number according to MSN .

Guy , I have looked into premium too......it's interersting ,but at this point we are still in the experimental stages of this whole venue..........although it ,after using it for a while does seem to have some interesting features & storage space ,far supercededs the old MSN........
