ricky white
Read in gazette on Saturday Ricky White passed away he use to hang around Miss Wellington's and I thought if anyone hung around this restaurant they would remember hin.Carol
Hi Carol: I was the person reponsible for Ricky hanging out at Miss Wellington Resturant. When my family moved off of Second Avenue to Verdun Avenue and Osborne I started to hang around both locations but preferred the second Avenue area. So I convinced Ricky White and Ken Nicholson (both lived on Osborne) to come down and hang around with me and the Second Avenue gang. I am sorry to read about his death. George
Hi George, Just to make sure we are talking about Miss Welingtons between 2nd and 1st, I use to work there as a waitress. Did you also hang around the restaurant across the street. Where Jimmy Vatsis and his sister Emily use to keep us in check. I do remember a George (reddish hair if my memory serves me correct) around there and Miss Wellingtons. I lived on 4th and 2nd Avenue. Harriett
Hello Harriet: Believe it or not, but I was up real early this AM and was reading some old messages when I discovered your name on some and started wondering if you were the same person I knew from Second and Fourth Avenues, as well as Miss Wellington's. Then when I opened up my computer later this AM I find your message. Nearly fell off my chair. I have thought about you many times over the decades that have passed since we chummed around at Johnnies and Miss "W". (Petite, attractive, and georgeous dark hair). - My memory of you. I joined the VC group only a few months ago and have had a ball reading messages and seeing the pictures people have posted. I presently live about a 2 hour car drive from Verdun ,in the Village of Cardinal,Ontario. Where do you currently reside? I married Barbara Fallon who lived on Willibrord and we have been married for 42 years and have one grown up son. Also have two grand-children. How about you? If you don't want to reply on VC usemy e-mail address. It's been nice meeting you again after all this time. George Edwards
So it is you, What a small world we live in. I am in Kingston, been here 11 yrs now. I got married in 67, to Ron Hewitt. When you knew me my dad was not building race boats, but down the road a few yrs he started again. That was how I got to know Ron. He went to VCH at the same time as I did. He bought one of my fathers boats 4 yrs previously and 4yrs later he bought another one and started racing. So was my father at that point. We have one son that is also into racing boats. No grandchildren. just 1 grand doggie and 4 grand kitties. By the way you used all those adjectives in the wrong places. (LOL). The hair is still dark but there are some silver guys sneaking in at a snails pace. Ron retired from CN after 43 yrs and I am still working from home, travel agent home based and affiliated with Service Gtd Travel here in Kingston. Planning on going somewhere, I'll even drive to Cardinal to hand deliver the tickets. Wouldn't that be a blast. Do you ever go to the Classic car shows they have during the summer in Cardinal? I travel to a new place each year with my car to show. Have a 1986 Porsche 944, black with black and yellow interior. I have always enjoyed these types of cars and others. I go to the Canadian Tire Meet every Friday night here in Kingston. Great way to meet new people. Last year was the first time that I actually ventured to the car shows. Will do it again this year. Use my email address instead as when I get writng an email it could go on forever. Harriett (2nd and 4th avenue)
