VHS YEAR BOOK
At the SHGV, we have the VHS year books from 1935 to 1984. If you would like to have information from these books, please let me know.
Bill, It is the Soci챕t챕 d'Histoire et de G챕n챕alogie de Verdun. We are situated at the corner of Brown and Bannantyne, below the Verdun Library, entrance on Brown. Guy
Guy, I have tried to access this site but it only comes up in French. Having lost most of my limited use of French due to lack of use, I was wondering if there was an English Version. Ruth
Ed, These year books are not for sale. Give me your full name and year you graduated and I can publish it on this site if the book is in our library as some of the years are missing. This will be about the 18th or 19th. Photos of sports team are also shown, such as basketball, hockey, socker so if you participated in some of these sports, it is possible that the photos are shown. You can also visit our premisses and see what we have to offer. Guy
In Yahoo Groups: Verdun High School there are some yearbooks, as well as links to other web sites where there are pictures of then and now to be found........... This is me above from 1972....Scan Courtesy of Ernie Loiselle.
There are some links on the left hand side of VC home page that can take you directly to different years of VHS. ShirleyBH2, I wonder if you knew Dave Linstead from the class of 1976. My wife and I knew him and his wife Kim from our days working at CP Rail in Windsor Station, Montreal. Ralph.
Shirley, this link will take you to the class of 76 site. I have scanned each graduate's picture. There are similar sites for 73, 74, and 75. http://www.geocities.com/mag_mck/index.html
Hi Guy If you could find the VHS 1977 yearbook & scan some pictures (specifically grade 8 class--->teacher: Mr. Doman (homeroom)). Thank You, Earl Cooper.
Bill, Although you did not graduate at VHS, it is possible that there is a photo of the team in the year book. I will check at the SHGV on my next visit at the end of the month and I will advise you the results of my research. Guy
I can save you some time with Kathleen and Colleen Doyle at the VHS. I hung out with them in Crawford Park and I know they went to the Catholic School...so that would be VCHS right?
Chris, I have already advised Shirley that I will be checking at the SHGV on the 31st, the 1972-1976 VHS year books for twins Colleen and Kathleen Doyle. VHS and VCHS I believe are the same school. Guy
Hey Guy5479 in answer to your message#28 V.C.H.S. was the Catholic school It was biult in the early sixties.Address on Champlain, between Valiguitte and Brown.Situated between Champlain and Beurling(sorry for my spelling could never spell that street). It took the place of the Verdun Horiculture Gardens. As for V.H.S. was the non Catholic High School in Verdun.Address was on Argle,it was between Argle and Melrose on the South side of Champlain. There were as you say alot Schools in Verdun that has come and gone.Keep up the good work Guy. Steve
Speaking of old schools that have disappeared, after the demise of Verdun High School there was Argyle Academy. Once that closed it seems that there are no more Protestant high schools in Verdun left? Are they bussed elsewhere? Can anyone bring us up to speed on this? Mac
Hey Steve(pops) I was just wondering if you have any kids and what are thay doing now.Did they follow in your footsteps, meaning do they know as much about Verdun as yourself. And did they go to school in Verdun like yourself.
Hi I never got a chance to go to VCHS ,My parents moved outa Verdun in '79 so I went to St.Willibrod Elementry School till Grade 3. I was just wondering if there was anyone one here that went to St.Willibrod between 75 - 79. Mind you I didnt go there for the whole time due to the building of the Metro that went under my school
To Ed Brown message 32 I think you should get your facts straight, The Nuns & Brothers were all qualified teachers, the nuns being CND, and the brothers up till about 1950 were the Sacred Heart from New Jersey, and they were replaced by the Presentation Brothers from Ireland, who also operated Catholic High in Montreal ( Durocher St.) No Christian Brothers taught at St Willibrord from 1939 to 1953, as I was there during that era. Just the Facts. HV & RV Gordo

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I
can change.

Chris, You say that the VHS and the VCHS are 2 different schools, if so, then I presume the VHS is protestant and VCHS is naturally Catholic. Do they still exhist and where are they situated. There are so many schools that have disappeared such as my own school, Notre Dame du Cénacle, Bannantyne, Willibrod and others. Guy
