I remember helping to shovell a spot in front of my house for my dad's car so he could park his car on Angers corner of deSeve only to have a someone park there who lived in one of the flats on deSeve Street, so my brothers and I had to stand in the spot and wait for dad to get home from work so that he could park in front of our house...those were the days!!!...Dianne
I don't remember shovelling snow, but in the mid 40's on Galt, we could jump off the second floor stairs right into a huge pile of snow...Also those neat "snow eating " machines...I remember when that machine eat a kid who was hiding in the snow bank. Jackie
What with the SNOW report, it has been in the 90's with smog, humidity& all other kinds of alerts in TO, Some nice white stuff would be welcome about now. HV & RV Gordo
Hey bubbacut the first two were from 1972 on second avenue the dented left front of the car in the pics. was of my 1964 olds.98 starfire. the other one was a pic. some one posted last winter. Steve
I remember those snow falls. We used to play in them for hours. I grew up in the late 70's early 80's and I can remember going around to the elderly and showeling their snow. We used to get 50 cents or a dollar. I remember getting a whole $5 once. that was a ton of money for an 8yr old back then. Chris
Hi bubbacut, I think we still get the same amount of snow as in the past . The snow removal is just far more efficient .. With far more equipment. Danny
Danny; I agree that we probably receive the same amount of snow as in the past. Where I live in Deux Montagnes I have a sidewalk in front of my property because there is a school just beside my house. The sidewalks are always cleaned and sanded as soon as snow falls. The street is also cleaned quickly by plows, and then the snow is taken away by snowblowers within a couple of days. The other side of the street however, is a different story. There are no sidewalks. The plows just keep making the snowbanks higher and higher with each snowfall. The people shovel their driveway, the plow returns, etc, etc,......by the end of the winter there are huge snowbanks on the other side of the street that compare with the snowbanks I remember as a kid growing up in Verdun. Ralph.

Linda, snowing like a booger ? ............never heard that before........when I went to visit my sister in Comox 20 years ago (Jan.86 or 87) it was light rain most of the time, but we did have a light snowfall one day just to remind us of home. mpu
