Balconville by David Fennario -A Verdun playright passes away at age 76-RIP David Fennario

David Fennario obit as it appears in the Montreal Gazette: I have also posted his award winning play/film at the end of the obit Another Verdun character passes away. RIP David. FENNARIO, David William It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David William Fennario (born David William Wiper) on September 16, 2023 at the age of 76. Proud native of Verdun, David also spent many of his formative years in Pointe-Sainte-Charles and Little Burgundy. All three neighbourhoods inspired his many plays and other writings. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, his sons Joel, Thomas, and Joseph as well as his granddaughter Sasha. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Virgina, Janice, and James as well as other relatives, friends, and comrades. He was predeceased by his sisters Peggy Anne and Sarah, who he loved dearly. The funeral service will be private, but the family intends to hold a public memorial in the near future. Donations to BGC Dawson or Toujours Ensemble would be appreciated.

Now that the deconstruction of this structure is almost complete, JCCBI wants to mark its history by giving the public souvenir rivets to commemorate this iconic structure. Rivet distribution Two events have been organized—one in Brossard and the other on Île des Sœurs—to provide citizens with rivets from the original Champlain Bridge that have been safely encapsulated under a layer of varnish. Always interesting to find ols photos we have either posted or shared over the years,and even finding old ones posted on various sites,that we also shared in the beginning of internet as we frantically searched and searched for anything related to our varying interests.Usually trying to credit the source when possible (not everyone even tries that these days....lol) I still think I will get around to reposting ones we've lost in the various transitions from the old MSN Groups sites, or the changing Media platforms. but the reality is tagging and reposting everythng would be a very large task to say the least. So for now I will just post random shots saved from everywhere over the years,that may be just fun or nostalgic to look at. Here are just a few old shots to prompt old memory banks.
