Champlain Bridge pieces of nostalgia?..............Ok but you hated lining up to get over it,but to get a rivet......lol

Keepsakes from the Champlain Bridge Thousands of original rivets distributed to the public The original Champlain Bridge had a socio-economic impact on the landscape of the Montreal metropolitan region and the City of Brossard for over 57 years. Now that the deconstruction of this structure is almost complete, JCCBI wants to mark its history by giving the public souvenir rivets to commemorate this iconic structure. Rivet distribution Two events have been organized—one in Brossard and the other on Île des Sœurs—to provide citizens with rivets from the original Champlain Bridge that have been safely encapsulated under a layer of varnish. One rivet per person (18 and over) First come, first served Limited quantity Brossard When: Saturday, September 9, 2023 Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Where: Centre socioculturel Alphonse Lepage 7905 San Francisco Ave., Brossard, QC, J4X 2A4 Quick in-car and active mobility user’s pick-up lane. Île des Sœurs When: Sunday, September 10, 2023 Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Where: La Station 201, Berlioz St., Verdun, QC, H3E 1C1 Quick in-car pick-up and dedicated pick-up lane for active mobility users. The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated cannot be held liable for any resulting loss or damage and you must assume all of the risks associated with this keepsake. 287,000 tonnes of reused materials With a focus on sustainable development, the deconstruction project recycled 90% of all materials, and these rivets are part of the 25,000 tonnes of steel that were reused throughout the project. JCCBI created a materials management and reuse plan to guide the reuse and recycling options for the different types of recovered materials.

Always interesting to find ols photos we have either posted or shared over the years,and even finding old ones posted on various sites,that we also shared in the beginning of internet as we frantically searched and searched for anything related to our varying interests.Usually trying to credit the source when possible (not everyone even tries that these days....lol) I still think I will get around to reposting ones we've lost in the various transitions from the old MSN Groups sites, or the changing Media platforms. but the reality is tagging and reposting everythng would be a very large task to say the least. So for now I will just post random shots saved from everywhere over the years,that may be just fun or nostalgic to look at. Here are just a few old shots to prompt old memory banks.
