Impressive! Using the left handed throttle (right hand
shift).
The oil pump says 1948, but in the U.S. at least only the

I just wanted to say thanks to you all for this site and all your contributions.
Reading your comments and discussions has certainly brought back many fond memories.
I know it will continue to grow and that more people we know and knew, eventually will find their way home.
I will check in from time to time to see how it has evolved.
I hope to make my way back to visit sometime in the near future, it has been many years.
Until then take good care and I hope this new year keeps you all healthy and happy and is
everything you wish for.
With love
Joyce Hallas (nee Cunningham)

Rapid Queen
The only boat that I recall going down the Lachine Rapids was the Rapid
Queen and that was before the seaway was built. I think the ship was owned
by the Harrington family in Lachine. What a sight to see. My father Jack
Whitaker came down the rapids on her a few times. The ship never went up
river always down.

Christmas Lights
Hey gang, Happy New Year to everyone! My most vivid memories of Christmas in Verdun was the incredible amount of Christmas lights on every doorway and balcony. It seemed like each neighbour competed with one another year after year. There are houses with spectacular displays, but nothing like the outpouring of festive lights in Verdun! We would laugh if lights were still up in mid January. I now see homes with the lights up year round, and only light them during the Christmas holidays. If anyone has pictures of the lights please post them. Thanks,
Mike
