Off Topic: The Superbowl Boob Fiasco..

Okies, I know that this has nothing to do with Verdun, but nobody has mentioned it and I would like to know all of your opinions on the "boob incident" that happened with Janet Janet at the Superbowl on Sunday....
Ok here's my POV on the situation....
First of all, it's obvious that the girl had a pasty of sorts, and....if you saw the episode on tv or any of the multitude of pics now all over the Net, did you see the HARDWARE she was wearing?? That ain't any typical thing that you would just wear
everyday...this thing is like a sunburst that almost completely covered the area .
As I see it, this thing was planned from the get-go. She wouldn't have worn something like that unless it was gonna be shown.  And the
statement that it was "wardrobe malfunction"? That's just BS, man...her red lace bra was not "supposed" to have come off with the leather part of her costume? Get real. Bras do NOT come apart like that just from being tugged on, ya know? And if you look at Justin's face in the
pic, he doesn't really look all that surprised, does he?
NOT to mention...isn't it ironic and convenient that the day or two after all the publicity about it that Janet Jackson's next CD happened to come out, huh? Yeah....accident.....sure...
I DO understand an inquiry into it because the Super Bowl IS a family tradition and it WAS still prime time when it happened....but hell....by the FEDS? A little much, ya know? LOL Funny too that the streaker who was there at prime time's day of fame was put on the sidelines haha
Anyone else is welcome to post their POV too! Please DO!
Luv, Sharon

Hi Lorna! Welcome! :-)

Hi Lorna welcome to the group! I'm Sharon Starr (nee Edwards), assistant manager here to Maggie McKiernon the owner of Verdun Connections.  I don't remember any of the names that you have mentioned, but I certainly do remember the dances at Dawson's and Barry's Fish and Chips place. What years would we be talking about that you lived there? And where are you now? I just left Verdun in June after being there for 43 years. Now live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia with my hubby. I'm 44 now, how old are you if you don't mind me asking. I have a feeling a bit older than I, no?
Please make yourself at home...check out all the photos and add some of you if you like. It's always nice to put a face to the words, ya know?
Again welcome to Verdun Connections. You are sure to rekindle many memories!
Luv, Sharon

Verdun Auditorium memories...

What memories do you all have from the Verdun Auditorium? :-)
when I was young I used to go to the wrestling there every tuesday night i think it was. I had autographs of all the wrestlers too..lol...Mad Dog Vachon, Sailor White Gino Brito and Danny Bravo, Killer Kowalski and Andre the Giant to name a few, but my fave was Edouard Carpentier. :-)
I ice skated there of course...and went to a few concerts there, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts come to mind. :-) But my best memory of that place was when loretta Lynn was going to be there and the morning of the concert I went walking around the outside of the Auditorium to see if I could see anything....
Her tourbus was parked right outside the side entrance, so i just sat there on the railings that were there and looked at it for a bit, when the side door opened and out walked Loretta's hubby and son! I was so tongue tied but I HAD to say SOMETHING! hehe So I asked "Will Miss Lynn be signing autographs this evening?" Calm and cool and as if I already had tickets...which I didn't hehe!!  Her hubby says "Well I'm not sure but I'll go in and ask her for ya!" And he DID too! hehe Came out with a piece of paper that she had autographed for me and told me that she would be out there signing "if" she had the time, but just in case she didn't, here was her autograph for me! Now I can see some of you rolling your eyes and thinking "Oh my God....LORETTA LYNN! Oh noooooooo geeeez" but hell i've always loved her music and been a fan so it was a thrill for me, ok? hehe And I still have that piece of paper that she signed to this very day. how much do ya think i could get for it? LOL! Any bids?
Anyone have any special memories from the Aud. to share?
Luv, Sharon
