CFCF Chopper Lands in the street (LaPresse photo 1970)
Well this is an interesting photo to say the least. Oddly enough I do not remember hearing anything about this, let alone seeing this photo.
Inspite of still being in Verdun-Lasalle-Montreal at the time.I cannot recall seeing this photo. and I had friends who were photographers for the Montreal Star, and the Gazette and had beers with them all at one time. You would think I would have heard about this, but even sitting with some of the reporters of the day and as mentioned some photographers I simply do not recall this event. I thought I would repost it here for you to see. We even got to use the Star and Gazette dark rooms and saw plenty of photos that never hit the actual papers. Anyway thanks for sending it to me,and here it is for everyone and anyone who surfs by this site.
Cheers !
Maybe I don't remember this incident because we all know we had enough going on in our lives in 1970 Montreal.....Especially in October with the infamous kidnappings and looming Crisis

why did it have to land did it run out of fuel or what what was it the pilot did a good job it looks like not much damage
hi Anonymous, I don't really know why the forced landing, I imagine the reason would have been mentioned in the original LaPress article. Maybe they have an archived stories page. If I do find out what happened here I will be glad to post the reason. Thanks for asking the question and thanks for surfing by. Cheers ! Les
