Cab Calloway at Verdun Auditorium in 1939

Rohinton Ghandhi is a a Verdunite who is passionate about the history of Verdun and a member of our society (SHGV) who is a freelance reporter who wrote this article for the Suburban newspaper about the visit of Cab Calloway and his cotton club orchestra at the Auditorium in 1939. This is also news to me as it is the first time I hear about "Cab's" visit to Verdun. How about the price, .75c-$1.00, quite a bargain. Other articles by Rohinton can be seen at:

That does not surpeise me. Montreal was a place that was a welcome place for those musicians. There was no discrimination like there was in the USA at that time.

Checkout the footwork by Cab,........me thinks MJ watched a few of these films himself.......
Amazing how much music we were exposed to just from cartoons........lol

...............and of course he also did some of his music with the Blues Brothers......
