Today's Gazette has a story about a large hole at Turcot Yards ,not being part of the redelopment of the yards.
while we wait for an official new plan, here's a new vision for turcot By Andy Riga Fri, Mar 26 2010 COMMENTS(0) Metropolitan News
I wrote a story for Friday's paper about an alternative to Transport Quebec's controversial plan to rebuild the Turcot interchange.
The plan was put together by Concordia University's Pierre Gauthier and architect Pierre Brisset, and is supported by the Conseil régional de l'environnement de Montréal, the Mobilisation Turcot coalition, the Regroupement économique et social du Sud-Ouest and the Montreal public health department.
It calls for a significant cut in car capacity and a big increase in public transit. As well, it calls for a major green space encompassing the falaise St. Jacques.
Here's a copy of the detailed plan: Turcot375_ConférencePresseFINAL
