April 10th 2026 Verdun car set ablaze
It never seems strange to hear of a fire in Montreal or Verdun, it seemed realtively common. This mornings Montreal Gazette reports a story of a car fire in Verdun. The Montrealer upbringing in me immediately suggests the cause of a fire is usually 'Financial Combustion' ,in this case of a car fire in a lane, makes me think Hmmmm ! a disgruntled neighbour tired of seeing a derelict car or maybe some persons project waiting to long to get fixed. So they have it mysteriously catch fire. Oh well just a thought.Or the old unwritten rule :they were parked in my SPOT'
Anyway I thought the photo of the Firetruck was neat, so here it is, and the story from this mornings Gazette,

Montreal police have launched an investigation after flames from a car that had been deliberately set on fire spread to a second vehicle and threatened nearby residences.
Police spokesperson Manuel Couture said the incident occurred at 1:15 a.m. in alleyway near Godin and Bannantyne Sts. in the borough of Verdun.
By the time officers arrived at the scene, the flames had spread to a second vehicle and threatened a nearby building housing a dépanneur and several residences.
Occupants were evacuated from the building as a precaution, but were able eventually to return to their homes. There were no injuries reported.
The damaged vehicles were towed away for further examination and firefighters suspect the blaze began after someone threw a flammable substance on one of the cars.
