Verdun Natatorium old footage 1963ish
This video has been posted many years ago,but I just discovered it doesn't show up in older posts now, so I thought I would share the video of the Natatorium from around 1963 again. Hope you enjoy it. Cheersd ! Les
Ahh, the old Natatorium, I remember well walking there each summer and if you got there early enough it was either cheaper entry or something like that. Some days it was our goal to swim all day until the lights came on in the pool. Diving from the shower islands in the shallow pool, and scooting across very hot pavement to stand on your well placed towel on the cement. The bag of chips 5 cent bag, or a toasted hotdog and a soft drink on the roof. Dropping chips or some sort of snack down to our friends still in the pool area. Also the old baskets to put our clothes in and wearing that numbered pin on our bathing suits,to claim our clothes back later. The tight turnstyles to enter the change rooms, and that tepid cesspool they wanted everyone to walk through before entering the pool area,or coming back in to go home. We always walked around the narrow edge around the foot pool............lol Thanks for these memories and this old video from my era.
Yes I too remember it well..I remember the smell the hot dogs, which I couldn't really afford in those days, except occasionally.. Thanks for the memories of the Natatorium!
