As soon as I saw this shot in today's Gazette , I thought I would share it here for us.
A nice and quick visit to Verdun,.........hope it prompts some good old memories from it.

I love that picture. It brings back great memories of Verdun. It was a wonderful place to grow up.
I keep coming back to this picture. It transports me way back to Verdun many years ago. On Church Ave way back in the 60s there was a little music store owned and operated by Marcel Frechette. I bought my first good guitar there....a Fender Telecaster. That was a big event for me. Marcel was a good sax player. Older than my buddies and me. He was a friend. Used to get us gigs around greater Montreal. Once he had us join him at a club somewhere in Montreal.......Sax, organ/piano, guitar and drums. We rehearsed in Marcel’s store after hours. He had a coke machine in the store. When we rehearsed after hours, the coke magically became beer. We had great times. I often wonder what happened to Marcel. He was older than us so I don’t wonder too much. He’s thriving in my memory and my imagination. God bless you Marcell wherever you are. Thanks for the memories.
I grew up on Egan and a Sunday routine was a walk with my parents along Wellington to Church to a restaurant? cafe? where we bought ice creams. I'm 80 now and can still remember a lot of it.
Those memories are wonderful. That’s a memory that many of us can relate to. It is amazing how much meaning these remembrances bring to us. Memories like that become a bookmark in your life. Thanks so much for sharing it.
