A giant loss. He was music. If you ever get a chance to watch the movie "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" do it!
It's a documentary of a Joe Cocker tour with Leon Russell and a collection of great musicians including Rita Coolidge, Bobby Keyes and many more. I saw it in a theatre in Montreal in 1970. Killer sound. It's out there on DVD.
Joe is his own unique self and he's sensational. The real deal. No pretty haircut and fancy shirt. Just a bona fide soul singer!
You are right Bob, I agree it is a neat film. & I think I will go & buy it just to have. Interesting ordinary seemingly down to earth guy. Cheeers ! Les
