Parc Cooney / Cooney Park, Verdun
Does anyone know the history behind the name Cooney Park ?
(facing Champlain Boulevard between Melrose and Desmarchais).

Ps: This site is monitored but not actively posting on a regular basis. Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.

I had cousins called Cooney, but they were from Point St Charles. I think my cousin Bobby (Robert) is still living in Quebec and he probably has some information on this park. His grandfather was the Fire Chief in the Point area, so maybe it has something to do with him..Diane
