I got the same thing here at the Church Bill, when I advertised with Concordia University off campus housing. One girl supposedly from England suggested her Father in the U.S. would send a cashiers cheque for the full amount plus $2000. Would I please cash the cheque and send her the two grand for transport etc., I had three like that. Ed

ReplyDeleteA friend received a letter stating she won $50,000 in a lottery and all she had to do was cash a cashiers check for $2000 for the taxes and send it back to the lotto people. What would have happened is the check would cash, but a week or so down the road the bank would call and tell her the check was found bogus and she owed the bank $2000. She almost fell for it. I even thought it was a no loss situation! Nigerian Scammers.
