Bands that played in Verdun
Do you recall the Band Soma they used to play at Dawsons.
The song I remember from the haunted was 125 I think.
Also "Out of Time" a Stones song ,.and the Haunted did it very well,.you couldn't tell the difference,.........but I don't Remember them ever playing at Dawson's ? There were alot of Garage Bands around Verdun in the mid to mid+ 60'sa few of Our members here were in some of those old bands,.....Alabaster Villa,....for one has been mentioned a few times,..Chapter's 3 (then I think 4, at one point),......, I can't remember all the names ,but I do Remember many different groups,............I need that old memory prompt,...(that's code ,for someone to tell me the name of other groups,..So I can say ,...."Oh Yea, that's right I Remember them")..........hahahahahah
ahh Sorry Levisjeans,...I mis-read your post,...I see that you sad SOMA at Dawson's but also mentioned the Haunted,.....I read it quickly I guess ,and thought it was the Haunted playing at Dawson's..........as Gilda would have said (rosanne rosanna danna): Never Mind (always hated that character)............hahahahahaha
Anyone remember Billy Barrett and Robert Asbury (???) duet. They got a chance to appear on Perry Como Show way back 1959 early 1960's. At least that is my recall. Gary Mace SAANICH, BC Valiquette/Moffat
Hey Gary of course I remember the GOLDEN TONES I think thats what they were called. Wayne Douglas was also a member of the group when it first started. Met him at the Dawson Reunion in 1994. Gloria
Gloria, I wonder what ever happened to them? Did they ever go farther? Maybe someone will fill us in. They were considered to be very good. Gary Mace Saanich, BC Valiquette/Moffat
Wayne Douglas is living in Ottawa, I bumped into him while doing a consulting gig at Canada Post, and we had a coupla beers together. He told me that he hasn't picked up a guitar in 30 yrs.
Saw the Haunted years later at the Friar's on Crescent. They were with members from the Rabble. One Band great music...anyone else go to Friar's. Lad
