HOVERCRAFT Gloworm

I remeber that umbrella so well. Because it
had the union jack on it.Mom was afraid to take it outside during the FLQ
crisis.

I guess she thought that we would get hurt or some
thing like that. Maybe she was right!

  7. Glo. When I lived in the Phillippines for 2 years, I use to take the Hovercraft from Cavite City, to Manila. That Hovercraft was probably 4 times as big as the one just pictured, and very modern It would take us across Manila Bay in a very short time, and so smooth. I think it cost the eqiuvalent of 50 Cents. Here I was in a third world country, and having some modern convienences. WOW...What a life!!!!!!

  8. No. My mother was originally from Wales, and my dad from Ireland. But my mother was a complete Royalist. Loyalty.....that is a good thing. While I am loyal to the United States, my heart is still in Verdun!!!! Winston Allison

  17. "Burn Baby Burn"   This May 20, 1976, photograph captures a fire at the former USA Pavilion ("Biosphere"). The fire would destroy the translucent acrylic bubble, but the steel latticework remained.       All that's left.   For those of us who visited Expo 67, the US pavilion designed by Buckminster Fuller was one of the highlights. Today, it's one of the few buildings remaining on the Expo 67 site on Île Ste Hélène. Most of the Expo 67 islands have been converted into parkland. A fire destroyed the shell, and so now the dome consists of just the frame. The building now houses an ecology museum, the Biosphère
