  2. Around 1976  we moved into a house at 770 Osborne - tired of the endless rent hikes I signed a lease for 5 years for $70 a month heat and lights extra of course 3 bedroom with living room and kitchen and one bath on the third floor so we had balcony.

  5. Back in 1970 when my husband and I got married we lived on 23rd Avenue in LaSalle and we paid $105 a month heat and hot water included in an upper triplex. When we moved to Nova Scotia in 1972 the rents were very high for an apartment not even remotely as nice, and the rents were all over $300 a month, some places had heat included but not all....So we decided to buy a house as soon as possible and we have been here for 33 years....Dianne

  6. Hi Dave,   Got married in 1966 and rented an appartment at 995 4th Avenue at $70.per month. One bedroom heat and hydro extra. My wife and I were fortuneate enough to own our own home now and now pay $300. in property tax per month. London Ontario.   Rents in Ontario are really high especially when transferring from Quebec. When we left St.Jerome we were paying $125. per month for a beautiful 3 bedroom home. In Toronto we got a small 3 bedroom townhouse for $250. That was in 1974.   Reggie Paine
