We used to go to the Vogue on Saturday afternoon in the mid 60's and for 75 cents see 2 or 3 movies. It was dark when we'd get out. can't remember one movie I saw there, but I remember going.
I used to like the System Theatre on St Catherine's just east of Morgan's Department Store. Three movies for 35 cents. The terminal turnaround loop track for the Ontario Avenue #5 streetcar was right behind the movie theatre. It was great going to the System Theatre on a nasty winter day.
You know you are getting old when one can remember when yhe Vogue theatre was built and when it was torn down. I remember playing in the hole that was to become the seating area . I grew up on Rozel street not far from the Vogue. I remember when we used to tease the Manager of the theatre. When he died the write up mentioned that he was a war hero. One never knows.
