  12. Hiya Cindy! So YOU'RE cidoak? Ahhhhhh ok....of COURSE I remember you! Hell you lived right upstairs from me in one of my favorites houses from my youth! hehe 92 - 5th Ave. in the Bronx, man...I'll never forget that house with the huge backyard. I've even gone back to see that house and re-live some memories from when I was 10 years old! hehe Funny....the backyard didn't look as big as I remembered it tho. Do you remember the back lane there wasn't paved but all GRASS? I remember your parent's, Mike and Bev...our Mom's had the same name even hehe. You have a sis Marilyn (who I think may have even gone out with my ex in his younger years...lol) you have another younger sister and a brother too don't you? I remember when I saw ya again and good ole Verdun High too! You knew the Stuart's right? Didn't you hang around with Les and Sharon Mugford for awhile? I seem to remember that. And yeahhhhhhhh...all THREE of my kids are redheads too! hehehe Our youngest is more blonde but there's definitely strawberry in there! There some pics of mine in here if you want to see them and where I live in Virginia now... I've talked with Sharon about ya a few times....I know you were there visiting her not too long ago, but we couldn't connect when you were, I think I was on my way out or something. Well it's great to know who you are! Hope we can connect more often now too! Do you have MSN messenger and/or Yahoo? I'll add ya! Take care Cindy! GREAT to rekindle old times man! Luv, Sharon

You hit the nail on the head with that one! I have found a scottish bakery about 40 miles west of Boston that makes very similar ones, but just not the same! I have promised the members of my pipe band that I will get some for them when we play in Ottawa in September!
In keeping along those lines, I'd have to say a Cherry Coke, fries and gravy from Kostas and an almond roll from the pastry shop on Verdun near DesMarchais.

  39. Les_F  Oh yes I remember it well. I am not complaing(YA RIGHT). I know, I know. I would complain if they hung me with a gold rope. I really am not bitchin', I just love this country and where I live. On a dead end road, down a private 3/4 mile drive, surrounded by forest, with deer, etc. I am just amazed how far I have come. From the flats on 3rd avenue and all the cars, buses, congestion, to a little bit of heaven. I really think we are spoiled on the west coast. Oregon. Washinton, Vancouver Island. WOW what a great place. ( Donner party next, table for five)

  41. Hi Winston, I feel exactly like you do....a little bit of heaven.  We have signs posted all over our town "EXPECT deer on our roads" and they really do wander everywhere.  But no matter how paradise-like our town is, people find something to bitch about.  They would like to shoot the deer cause they eat their flowers, shrubs, etc.  Guess we better not brag too much about paradise on the westcoast else everyone from the rest of the country will move out here, lol.  And Les F keep watching that thermometer and downing the cold ones, eh? Cheers Linda

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's funny cause Here on Southern Vancouver Island , We actually Reward our Deer & other animals with 'Jewellery'   ............and I've seen the signs saying 'Watch' for deer on roads.............(hope it's a Rolex) ..............hahahahah

  43. MOM1945-Linda. We can grow a garden or put in fruit trees. We already tried that, and they were eaten real fast. But that is okay. They were here before us, and we enjoy feeding them, especially at this time of year when they will be bringing their babies around very shortly so they can get some of the stuff we feed them. 82. Linda, yes this is a type of shrink wrap that is put on the boats when they are taken out of the water. In the fourth photo you can see the docks/quais where the boats would normally be tied up when the river is not frozen.         mpu

    ReplyDelete
  88. When I was a kid, I used to drive my Sunday school teacher crazy with my endless stream of questions on any and every subject she taught. On the subject of Noah's Ark, I asked her, if the only humans on the ark were Noah's children and their spouses, was there not an inbreeding problem? Of couse this question was brought up previously on the subject of Adam & Eve. The answer was always, you are not supposed to question the Bible, just believe it!!!!!!!!!  Sort of like politics, I guess....
