  1. Hi Pat. :-) I believe that Miss McNaughton was our founder of the group, Maggie McKiernon's,  grandmother...am I right, Mag? :-) I don't remember her, sorry Pat, but I believe it's BaNNantyne School that you're referring to, right? Luv, Sharon

  2. yes virginia_star_gazer it was ballantyne school. she was my teacher in
grade 3 or 4. i do remember in the spring she used to sell maple syrup by
the guart and you brought in your glass milk bottles. 6 grand children have
made me try and remember. who was the girls vice principal at vhs, the one
that had the no make up rule, ripped the sweater off your back if it wasn't
navy blue or blaclk and made you take off your slacks in the girls entrance
basement to school in the winter? my oldest grandaughter is 13 and she is
reading these letters. now she believes we went to a convent or were in
reform school. she will get a kick out of these letters when she comes over
sunday as she thinks nanny and pappa are telling lies. here in the halifax
are it is makeup, tight jeans and belly tops in junior high. she say the pic
of the uniforms and thinks we were all geeks. times have changed . pat

  3. Hi Patricia, The girls vice-principal was Miss McMonagle.  I remember her yanking a gold chain from my girl friend's neck.  Sure scared the poop out of me...never did wear jewellery to school again.  Cheers, Linda

  4. Wasn't she a good friend of Miss Allens' that also
taught at Bannantyne School and then went on to Woodland School because the
day myself,Helen Calder and Sheila Adams took our girls over to start there she
was and she remember us all.
