It's that Time of Year Again

Wow already Christmas time of year, yesterday (sat.nov 25th 2023) Montreal held it's annual Santa Claus Parade. Only 1 month till Christmas Day. Remember when we were kids........here are a few photos from years ago,some of you will remember no doubt,

All the adults around us were upset ,some cried.....we knew it was something serious. Then we were told that we were being sent home early. Allthe teacher said was "The President has been Shot" Imagine that was 60 years ago. Here is a copy of the front page of the Montreal Star

Ron Woodall shares more history from the CKVL & Woodhall Dancing in Verdun

Here is more from Ron My father Walter and Grandfather Oswald. Me and Dad on the steps. Gabrielle and Walter with me in the pedal car. Dad's 3 sisters Dot, Marg & Elsie. Our flat top left had a covered catwalk to Wood Hall whose upper floors were rented to clubs and fraternal orders. On VE Day, effigies of Hitler were hung from the canopy and set alight.

Poppy Campaign has been on for 2weeks......Have You Got Yours?

Not everyone supports the wearing of a poppy........too bad, but I suppose you have that right. I like the idea, and make a point of at least making a donation,plus the basic idea behind the reason to wear one is a good one...my opinion. As you can see I have been introduced to buying a poppy from a very young age.

I added my personal watermark as you can see, since some pics posted are used elswhere without acknowledgment of source. In anycase Remembrance Day is coming this week,and that is a special day. Cheers LesF Lest We Forget
