Verdun Connections @ Multiply & Previously MSN Groups Says Salute

Over 10 years has passed with Verdun Connections,in both MSN groups,& then here on Multiply.The features offered now photo albums video,blog stories,will cease to be supported by Multiply. I for one am not that unhappy,we have had a great run,told some tales relayed Verdun information historical & sometimes hysterical..lol Great photos have been shared as well as videos.

I would thank Maggie for having the insight to start Verdun Connections back on MSN groups (along with her friend Lucina) I was asked to help along the way & was happy to do so.

We had to endure many growing pains & glitches & mysterious stuff,to which of course the management must have been out to get us....hahahahah

We have spawned many groups,to which new admin will find out that glitches still occur & messages sometimes fly off into space,& some members will try to overun the site with there ideas of how things should be. Perhaps they know now,that just happens,just not as much these days as in the beginning of social media,but it still happens.

We also learned that a lot of people like to just read the stories or look at the photos and some choose to comment periodically.Usually it is a small percentage of any group that actually joins in on a regular type basis. Keeping to topic is difficult to do as well.

    We welcomed them all whether just to read the topics,look at the photos,watch the videos ,we enjoyed all of you,Maybe our paths will cross again in the future (via the internet a new group somewhere down the road,or maybe not) Time will tell.

 I have closed off membership ,as I see Multiply has it's own tech problems these days,so I have also closed the comment ability,(actually it appears as 'moderation' but it is to just allow us to Say Goodbye to you all, & we hope you always ........................................Have Fun & Remember Verdun........Cheers !  - LesF

ELSON, Margo (nee Allen) Born in Verdun, formerly of Greenfield Park, Quebec after valiantly fought battles with cancer at William Osler Health Centre in Brampton Sunday, June 14, 2009, at the age of seventy-five. She will be greatly missed by her children, Donna, Bob, Bill (Frank) and Allen (Darlene) and her frequently spoiled grandchildren Tammy (Ashley), Jonathan, Tyler, Tanner, Troy and Tessa. Formerly of Montreal, Margo will also be sadly missed by many friends and relatives in Ontario, Quebec, the U.S., England and Scotland. She was a staunch friend, avid Bunka embroiderer, fearless traveler and devoted Montreal Canadiens fan. Following her desired wish, no visitation or funeral service will be held however for those who wish, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date for her many friends and family.

He is the son of the late Paul Hibbard and Annie Gavaghan. He leaves to mourn his sister Susan, son Shawn, grandchildren Aymeric and Ysende, cousins Neddy, Colleen and Maureen as well as his sidekick Mikey the talking parrot. Many may remember him as a car and boat enthusiast, hanging out at Tassy's and using Adams restaurant as his office. NIMBLEY, Thomas (Tom) Patrick "Born To Fish" Our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away in the Philippines on April 10th, 2013, at the age of 81. Tom was born in Montreal in 1932, worked in telecommunications in Montreal, on the Dew Line and finally in Bamfield in the early 50's where his love of fishing bloomed and never faltered. At the time of his death Tom was the owner and skipper of the AVISA. He was a well known, respected, West Coast fisherman; the Ancient Mariner latterly packed on the Fraser River. Tom was an outstanding athlete who enjoyed family dinners, hanging out with the grandchildren and the camaraderie with his many friends. He lived every day of his life as if it was his last. In later years Tom spent a great deal of time in warmer climates with family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents Sara and Thomas, brother John, and step daughter Linda. He is survived by sister in law Francoise, special nephew "Tommy", Michael, and nieces Susan and Frances. Tom was a wonderful loving steadfast Step Dad to Sandra (Gary) McDannold, Gerald Hughes, Debra (Barry), Kwiatkowski, Brenda McIsaac, Bob (Kathleen) McIsaac, and Brent (Rosa) McIsaac. Beloved Poppa to Angela, Laura, Catlin, and Gramps to Stephen, Shannan, Liam, Luke, Gage, and Itzel. Tom was blessed to have many loving and loyal friends including his 80 year long friendship with Eddie Scott and his 30 years with his former partner and still friend Carolyn.
