Remember the Old Laura Secord Easter Eggs...........(tonnage in a box) -lol

Remember these (instant cavity & tonnage) Easter Eggs ,they were the sweetest of them all,and they were always a 'good find' on Easter Sunday. (they were the expensive ones too) ......How did our parents afford buying all those treats for each of us kids.?

Have a good easter everyone, although I doubt I even see a chocolate egg these days, kids all grown up & all that. But you guys with young kids or grand kids will be indulging won't you? lol--Right Winston ?.............hahahahaha

  3. Where I live in Oakville Ont. Laura Secord sets up temporary booths in the malls and they sell these yummy eggs. I wait until after Easter when they reduce the prices before I buy them. If you want to know where the cavities are in your teeth, just eat one of these eggs. Guaranteed to find them all.

  6. Yes, JMH I remember that bowling alley & billiard hall. When we were kids it was a great adventure to go into that spot. A real classic bowling alley ,with pin boys to replace the pins before automated ball returns.. I liked that building .
It's funny it's you that responded here with a post, as I was just on the BNQ site looking for Laura Secord images etc etc , & I came across this old building in Chicoutami Hamel's Pharmacy which sold Laura Secord products at one time. It's a very old building ,but I wonder if it is still standing ? I know you live in Chicoutami now ,so i thought you may know?

Une autre source identifie l'immeuble comme étant l'ancien magasin Steel's. Il précise que l'édifice de gauche abrite au rez-de-chaussée la Boucherie Idéale et à l'étage le logement de J.A. Gagnon.

  9. It is amazing how strong that shape actually is from end to end (or top to bottom as it were)

JMH did you recognize the Pharmacie Hamel building in the photo above,or has it long since been replaced ? The one in Chicoutami ,the photo was taken around 1925,

  11. There were 5 of us kids so we never got Laura Secord. We did get our fill of chocolate bunnies, chickens, sugar eggs, & the eggs where your name was drawn on with icing. Easter was always a happy memory for me.

  12. That in itself is a pretty cool memory......Thanks for sharing: Cheers !! HF&RV
