Pres. Gerald Ford has died

Just heard that President Ford has died.  Another in a string of good people who has died this year.....hoping that 2007 fares much better.

Here's to a healthier and happier 2007, while keeping in mind those who have passed on before us.

  2. More sad news. I think Gerald Ford was a good man, a man of integrity. He took over as President at a very low point in US history. May he rest in peace.   Dianne

  3. People continually critisize Ford for pardoning Nixon but it was the right thing to do. Watergate had carried on for 18 months and it had to be put in the past. The country needed to move on. He sacrifised being reelected for the good of  the country.    Ed

  4. Hi Ed,

You are absolutely right. It had to be done although Pres. Ford did pay the
price for it. He put the country back in a forward motion. I think he was
probably one of the most honest & sincere presidents considering he was
never elected to the office of Vice President or President! He replaced Spiro
Agnew who stepped down in disgrace and then Richard Nixon who also stepped down
in disgrace. Bro. Gerald was also a Mason & Shriner in Ohio. One
night in DC, he slipped out of the White House to attend a Masonic meeting. He
did not allow any special treatment to be given to him and just sat with the
membership. The Master of the lodge was a White House grounds keeper!

    Regards,
