I noticed we have a new member that has chosen this as a nickname. Made me think of a home that was for "wayward" girls (might have been just displaced girls even) back in the 70's. I think it was the girls' equivalent to Weirdale. Anyone else remember this?
That sounds somewhat familiar MaggieMck.........I know I spent alot of years 'looking for wayward girls.........hahahahaha .....found some too.....HF&RV

I dont remember a Tara Hall but I do remember a home for girls called Marion Hall. One of my cousins was put in there. I hope you find more on Tara Hall
ReplyDeleteThanks, that does sound right. Maybe I was a bit confused. Although I'm pretty sure it wasn't because of "Gone with the Wind". I've never seen the movie or read the book.
ReplyDeleteHi ! Maggie Tara was the name of the plantation in "Gone With The Wind"
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Silver & Maggie!

The Girls Home I recall was the one beside the Fire Station and that was

Tina; I remember a Teen Haven that was run by Pastor Johnson and his Pentecostal church formerly in Verdun, now in Lasalle. He also used to have a radio program on Sunday evenings called "Ask the Pastor" My Mom's best friends family, the Mugfords used to go to this Church. Ralph.
