Ave. and Osborne.Then they moved to the new Police & Firestation on Lasale Blvd.

There was a temporary classroom for St. Thomas Moore over the fire station and I went there for third grade. Two years later St. Thomas Moore opened its new school.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember Ernie Chaisson who was a Verdun Fireman?? He lived on Rushbrooke,,had sister Margaret,,Irene,,brother?? He was also a terrific hockey player..nose broken a few times.
ReplyDeleteAlso for a time (around 1959 at least), there was a branch of the Verdun Library on the second floor above the Fire Station. The other old Library location I am aware of (c. 1952) was on the south-west corner of Verdun Ave and Church street, next to the Dominion Store on Church Ave.
