Mostly these are stories & some photos saved from a defunct site known as Verdun Connections which was on MSN Groups initially then on a social network called Multiply.
dee, he should cus i started it with a few buddies and brought him along to keep us on the straight and narrow and his hard work kept it going for 25 years.i was with wally last nite. bim

Condor was his handle. I was living on Rolland ave then. My handle was (Rolly Polly)
In 1980 we left Verdun, Brass Monkey and I came to Vancouver in 1986 we were married
had 10 good yrs.then he passed away. I was so happy to see your name on Verdun Connections

I just read where you wrote that Cecil Gibbons was your father. I used to stop in and visit with your family many years ago, I believe you lived across from the Verdun City Hall.And do you have two brothers Gordon and Charlie, I could be wrong as it's been a long time. Take care, Bob Archibald

ReplyDeleteHEY DAVEY THE NAME DOESNT RING A BELL.THIS CLUB HAD MANY MEMBERS AT ONE TIME IT WAS HARD TO KNOW THEM ALL.PPL CAME AND WENT.THE MEMBERSHIP GREW TO OVER 200 AT ONE POINT AND THAT WAS ALMOST 30 YEARS AGO.SORRY BIM

I've been thinking real hard and the best guess when I would have visited your old household was in the mid to late fifties, And yes it was Eddy and not Gordon my mistake. I am probably around the same age as Eddy and remember him as being into motorcycles and Laconia. At that time I would have dropped in with Lorne Richardson, maybe that will spark something.This is certainly alot of fun and I do remember you now. Sorry to hear about Charlie. ReplyDeletehey mike, bob white lived upstairs from with his brother rodney and sister donna his dad bob senior and mom bev.they live on rolland now near champlain and bob was a member at one time,he was also a member of vrc the verdun radio.i spoke with him lasy in dec 2001 at my moms funeral. bim
ReplyDeleteHi Bim, Lots of talk about the CB clubs. I wasn't a member of any of the clubs but was on CB for many years. I noticed in the new photos of verdun that Ernie_Loiselle added, he mentioned Lynda & Marge Rochford, they were on CB for years and may have been in the club you guys are talking about. I don't remember their handle but it might have had something to do with the fact that they were twins.They were very active in anything to do with CB. Dannyb XM52-3025 I was the Pirate.
