The video may show the velodrome wich would help me solve the problem of it's location. The Q.P. velodrome was host to the 1899 World's Meet Bicycle races wich was an international event and there must have hundreds of photos taken and even maybe some 8mm or 16mm films as this was the beginning of the film industry having started about 1890. I checked with the National Film Board but did not have any films of the event. My search continues.
GuyGuy Billardhttp://shgverdun.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-88105219993443130552011-09-15T17:36:52.000-07:002011-09-15T17:36:52.000-07:00Glad you asked Guy, it is quite easy,I will send y...Glad you asked Guy, it is quite easy,I will send you a message on how & where to do it.
I could not find one that specificly said Verdun 1896- I did however see this one on the Verdun Ice Harvest 1929ish,.and one other about Montreal 1896ish here are the two I mention.Les Fhttp://lesf.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-85440648667185685812011-09-15T17:23:43.000-07:002011-09-15T17:23:43.000-07:00Les,

I see other old subjects like Verdun 1896 - 191- wich I would like to see as it is the period I am looking for that had the Queen's Park.

GuyGuy Billardhttp://shgverdun.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-55655766578742135012011-09-15T16:53:09.000-07:002011-09-15T16:53:09.000-07:00Well it doesn't look like any of these guys wh...Well it doesn't look like any of these guys who built the Wellington Tunnel got any payola.....& their work has lasted quite awhile considering it was rarely maintained. The stuff they build in the last 30 years (maybe 40) is crumbling...However here is the neat old film of the work being done a long time ago.

Have Fun & Remember VerdunLes Fhttp://lesf.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-14874095183883697632011-09-15T14:24:43.000-07:002011-09-15T14:24:43.000-07:00I agree,...........less than 50% of eligible voter...I agree,...........less than 50% of eligible voters actually vote. Mostly because it doesn't seem to matter which band of gypsy's are put in power.they eventually start feeling entitled & start thieving.
That's why they award themselves titles such as the Hon. so & so,.there isn't much to call honorable about most of them.
However I do think that it is time for making it Mandatory to Vote, then we would at least see what choices the people would make. This is common in NZ. an eligible voter is fined if they do not vote.
By having such apathy ,as we do here in Canada ( & most other so called democratic countries) it becomes easier for the crafty minded to run for office & get in,due to low voter turnout, then they can appease their friends and in so doing make themselves rather wealthy---ever see a poor politician 'after' they come out of office ? They know well in advance where the highway's will be going & which land will be needed by future Govt's,so their families & friends can conveniently cash in on 'smart investment's'
So you are right Guy, we get the Govt' we deserve......... Cheers ! There are 4 billion dollars worth of construction projects in the works presently, this means that it is costing us $1.2 billion more than it should. The public keeps asking ffor a public enquiry in the construction industry but the provincial government does not want one as it would open a can of worms. And to think, it only took an 18 month investigation.
