I missed so much of this on TV when I was living in Verdun.Sue Van Duinenhttp://suevand.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-85128389176952521752010-10-05T23:15:28.000-07:002010-10-05T23:15:28.000-07:00Are you referring to this referance about the flq ...Are you referring to this referance about the flq lunatics & like minded ;twits ???
"Toronto can thank the flq & likeminded twits for that" (in the post above)
If that's what your referring to,then I don't get the connection,no where in any of the posts was there any mention of anyone ,or doing a comparison on anyone....
also when 'You' say Irish Twits, are You referring to all of the Irish ?,or were you suggesting the lunatic fringe homegrown terrorists who killed innocent people ?......if the latter is the case & you want my 'rating ' of them ,I'd say they were 'lunatic homegrown terrorists who killed innocent people.
Is that OK with you ? this thread was posted based on it's Montreal content ,as is most of the site,& not meant to veer off onto comparisons of lunatics around the world.(that would be a thread/topic titled "Lunatics & Likeminded Twits Around the World") lol. I certainly wouldn't lighten my thoughts or opinion of the separtist lunatic fringe or 'likeminded twits' either......so basically I am not either 'rating nor comparing the twits period. One bright note to be said about the soldiers on our street - some of the neighbors brought hot tea to them on the winter days; one in particular struck up a friendship, and they eventually married. Not sure what happened after that, I have been gone too long.
There you go Les. No comment this time. I was sitting on a chair just below the visitors gallery where the bomb had been placed. For some strange reason I got up from the seat, went up a few stairs to the booth just under that gallery when the bomb went off. One of the traders "Scotty", said; "What was that?'. I said in a very loud voice; "It was a bomb, you a*****e. I looked down the few feet below us, and the huge double chair I had been sitting in was gone. STRANGE REASON???? I don't think so. The next day we still opened for business, and the following day in the New York Times, myself and a few of my fellows traders were on their front page... I still have a copy of it...AHHHH, For the good old days.....john allisonhttp://winnie3rdavenue.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-35011747985595002132010-10-05T07:38:16.000-07:002010-10-05T07:38:16.000-07:00Btw: It was exactly 40 years ago ,right down to th...Btw: It was exactly 40 years ago ,right down to the day of the week ,Tuesday,October 5th,1970

--HF&RV--
ps: there was nothing romantic in the ideals of some lunatic fringe separatists
"FLQ terrorists killed six and committed 200 bombings, robberies from 1963-70"
--and the untold cost of Billions maybe more of investment ,which chose to silently move their business's or at lesast their HQ's out of the province, and it set Montreal back a long ways from being Canada's largest city & financila center,Toronto can thank the flq & likeminded twits for that.........................HF&RVLes Fhttp://lesf.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6464100720604662734.post-69768980533170309472010-10-05T07:36:57.000-07:002010-10-05T07:36:57.000-07:00Having gone to school with Michael Mackassey,it wa...Having gone to school with Michael Mackassey,it was almost mandatory we drive by his house to see the army guards outside his door-------------Weird times for sure, I wonder how they felt inside their own home,I never did ask him that,........................................................HF&RVLes Fhttp://lesf.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.com
