Bandstand & Pavillion

Here are more old photos of the boardwalk facilities:

The Bandstand which was also called the Sing Song according to the article although I never heard of that expression.

Also shown is the dance pavillion. The article mentions that Oscar Peterson played there.

Hi, I just found this blog. I am very interested in what is mentionned about Verdun Pavilion as my father was managing this fast food, dance, whatever you call it, for many years. As far as I can remember I used to go sometimes during the week end after swimming at the Verdun Natatorium. I was then too young to go to the Pavilion on evenings. The only evening I was allowed to go there was when there was music at the Sing Song, next door. I found some pictures of the inside specially one with all the decor around the jukebox. I remember seeing either Coke, Seven-up or Pepsi representatives coming over to decorate the walls every year. Glad to know that other people also remember this place. My dad's place: he was called Rolly by the regular customers.

OMG...I remember the Pav. we used to hang out there all the time. It was our favorite meeting place. Lots of fun..
