OMG what memories - and our Black Watch too! Les thanks for them all you are great! All the changes since then - days when life was actually quite good! Miss a lot of that now - and the way people were....Sherry
I agree with all those sentiments ie: times were good,the way the people were, but I am unsure about the miss the snow............lol Cheers ! HF&RV - Les
Sherry here are a few Black Watch photos some from Verdun during parades ,some when the Monument was at the little triangle park where Lasalle & Wellington meet,....
Others were just gleemed from the imnternet,since you like Black Watch & obviously have pride in them,.....hope you like the pics....
ps: the one shot of the parade with the Champlain Gas station in the background could very well have been taken from what would have been my front gallery (although i would have been a little kid then) but the angle towards Rielle & VerdunAvenue would be almost exactly this angle. Also the Guardian newspaper was on the bottom floor right next door to me ,when I was growing up,.....I posted some photos many years ago from this same front gallery of another parade going in the opposite direction ,it was the Sea Cadet Band of which my brother was a drummer ? I think....Verdun had many parades,later on I too marched in a parade or two,as a member of the HMCS Donnacona sea cadets.....
