Petroglyph

Wanting to know more about the petroglyph, I made these drawings showing it's structure which is basically made of 2 parts, a 4 leaf and a circle entertwined in and out like a basket, This will help us identify any discoveries we may make in the future. I have a strong feeling that it is an irish design. One of our members (SHGV) suggested that it may have been carved by some irish laborer who worked at the hydro dam nearby at the end of the 19th century.

Isn't that the same message, as the designs & videos we posted in the previous thread ? or did you draw these designs yourself ? If you did ,wow fanatastic job in such short notice,.....
Or is there something I am missing ? HF&RV...............- Les
ps: the last people I would trust for carbon dating anything would be an 'expert' from Labelle Province,.Have you paid attention to the way they catergorize things at museums ,......they are rarely right,.as we have shown many times in some of our findings just here on this site. We have been witness to so many 'mistakes' and then been told they are from 'experts'.... they were in many cases very wrong. I suggest a 'large grain of salt' be taken whenever hearing some irrefutable evidence as gospel....but it would be interesting to hear what 'they' have to say.
I see many sites (a lot who copy pics from this one) just repost photos ,as if they were gospel,.
"We cannot believe everything we read" & less of what we see & read..... Unfortunately too many times we start a story ,yet never hear the ending......I look forward to hearing new explanations of this rock.

Hmmmm among scholars , there is 'little agreement' of the interpetation of this 'rock art' .....

Rock art is generally divided in two categories: carving sites (petroglyphs) and paintings sites (pictographs). Pictographs are paintings that were made by applying red ochre or, less commonly, black, white or yellow dye. Although the majority of the images were traced with the finger, some could be executed with brushes made of animal or vegetal fibres. Petroglyphs are carvings that are incised, abraded or ground by means of stone tools upon cliff walls, boulders and flat bedrock surfaces.

Canada's Native PeoplesRock art sites have been discovered throughout all Canada. In fact, pictographs and petroglyphs may constitute Canada's oldest and most widespread artistic tradition. It is part of a worldwide genre of prehistoric art, which includes the cave paintings of Spain and France as well as the rock art of Scandinavia, Finland, northeast Asia and Siberia. No foolproof method for the precise dating of rock art has been discovered, other than speculative association with stratified, relatively datable archaeological remains. While the tradition of rock art was no doubt brought into Canada by its earliest occupants during the last ICE AGE, it is most unlikely that examples of great antiquity will ever be found.

This drawing is indeed the petroglyph near the hydro dam in LaSalle and I made the drawing last evening. Incidentely, the person (Pierre) who discovered the petroglyph in 2005 has just joined MVC and is now a member after I told him about this site. He told me that he had a problem as he gets no response when he clicks on the reply section. I told him to try again today and to contact me if he still does not get a reply. I may get back to you on this problem later. He is also a member of our SHGV and made a presentation at our directors meeting last thursday as he is fascinated with this subject and has been working on it since his discovery 7 years ago. The irish connection tied to the hydro power dam construction in the late 19th century looks very promising and I will pursue this in our archives (SHGV).

I think we have some very competent people in our government agencies with up to date scientific equipment so I woudn't be too critical. Our schooling system has progressed significently over the past 40 or 50 years ago and we only have to look at the Bombardier Co. (Skidoo), (Airplanes) etc. to appreciate the progress we have made over the years.
In the entertainment world, Celine Dion and the Cirque du Soleil are the hottest entertainers in Las Vegas. Of course we face the same problem as elwhere in Canada, the cheap labor from Mexico and Asia and we are loosing thousand of jobs for that reason.
I just thought I would make a statement to put things in the right perspective.

Guy, perhaps he 'joined' Multiply but not this specific group. That can happen, easily,if he clicks on reply & he gets no response, then I would suspect he is not actually 'signed in' . I just tried it that way,by coming on this site, but not actually signing in,& I got no response when I clicked on 'reply' .
Ask him to go through the steps again,by the way what name is he a member as ?I don;t recall him joining, was it recently ?
Also we do get a lot of people who surf by & find us,but they too cannot respond to anything unless two things happen, one they join Multiply, then join Verdun Connections..it is a bit of redundancy, however it was / is the same when you join any social network, first you join the network, then join any of the individual groups.
.Let me know if we can help him........I will look for his membership (if it is under the name Pierre,I should be able to find it,if I cannot then it's as I suspect,he joined Multiply & got his own page & can read all this sites posts ,but simply cannot contribute or participate ,due to not actually being a member here.
- Cheers HF&RV -
Incidentally, back to the design ,it looks very likely that it is, Celtic / Irish
and did you know there is one Celtic design called "Willibrord Triskele" I wonder if there is an example of this petroglyph's design in one of the local Church's ,? Perhaps one of the Verdun,or Point St Charles Catholic church's....could be worth a visit to Willibrord Church or St Thomas Moore in Verdun for a quick look around ?
If it is Irish ,then there may be evidence of that design somewhere,Good Luck & we will rely on you to keep us up to date on the findings..... HF&RV

I do not understand the relevance of mentioning these two examples of business,as having anything to do with schooling.
If anything it's a shining example of having to leave Canada to make millions elsewhere, Bombardier would have been Totally Bankrupt & Out of Business many decades ago,if it were not for the continuous feeding at the public trough. They have plants all over the world,(you know the type where jobs are ) but they are constantly subsidized by taxpayer money to keep the few plants left in Canada/Quebec.......lol
& don't get me started on Celine .....she couldn't wait to exit ,& it was a good thing for her, she's a multi multi millionaire due to leaving & creating jobs elsewhere, the people that are her entourage, and build the sets, and work outside Canada......
Cirque de Soleil ..........makes Billions and creates work ,mostly outside Labelle Province .....they are good, even Bombardier has great products, but none of these examples make me think that our education system as progressed ,.more like a few got really smarter, and learned how to get rich................hahahaha
...but back to the original statement,I do not get the relevance btwn, all that & a rock with a picture on it.or the ability to date it.
