Hires Root Beer

Again going through our archives (SHGV) I found this June 7th 1929 page from the Verdun Guardian showing an add for Hires Root Beer by the Corona Bottling Works wich was stuated at 3159 Verdun Ave. wich was near Atwater. I think most Verdunites of a certain age remember this drink. JMH in particular who lived in that area. I already posted this ad on the old site but I thought I would re-post it.

Their sign at one time had a Big Bottle on it ,one saying Corona,.and then later it was changed to a bottle of KIK
It would be neat to find a phot of that old sign,, I'll bet there's one in the Guardian somewhere, along the line. Guy will find it if it's there. HF&RV

Spruce beer we still get even at IGA. The lime rickey is from vermont I think but it's not like those big bottles we had. Onew of those funny moments that you had to be there to find it funny it always staid with me. Someone asked Bobby Legget where he got his bottle of lime ricky he answered "At the lime ricky store" See you had to be there. Bobby was also the first guy I saw with those herringbone pants that were so tight at the ankle you had to force your foot in to get them on.Follys of fashion.
