This may help you recall a few memories of Christmas shopping in down town Montreal when you couldn’t find what you wanted on Wellington Street.

Does anyone recall what we called this style of boots

okay - I'll bite - they were called "pussy" boots. I mentioned them once upon a time on this site and it was met with a stony silence. I thought I had stepped out of line. lol! I guess in the 50's we were all too innocent to make a joke about that but in this day and age, "pussy" boots would cause a lot of comments from oh so many people. Mine were flat though because I was just a little whippersnapper :) And I loved them - they were so cute. Cheers!

Thanks Sandy for confirming their name. When I googled pussy boots I couldn’t believe what I got. I thought I made a mistake. They were great you could wear your shoes. They are in the film along with fur coats and hats.

What were CFM shoes? Or maybe I shouldn't ask? now I am going to google them. both of them - lol

I was going to ask the same question but i'll google them too

Exactly what they are or were called. Pussy boots

I think they were called Pussy Boots because of the fur trim down the front that was soft like a pussy cat.
I just hope the fur trim was NOT a pussy cat. Oh no

Good Late evening Pauline!
Just hang in there SNOW is on the way (UP THERE)! We've had our share of rain too! BIG thunderstorm last night and some real flooding and damage North of us in St.Pete and Tampa! Forecast is for more rain tomorrow and this weekend. YUK, but we won't have to shovel it!!!! Ha! Ha! The passing cold fronts cool us down and so we feel like Christmas is drawing near. The decorations still go up and shopping excursions
prevail DOWN HERE too! "It's a wonderful time of the year!" Maybe someday for everyone!
Best to you and yours, Victah, aka Vicsailin or Sailin Vic

CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO CHANGE MY E MAIL ADRESS IN MULTIPLY SO I DON;T LOSE THESES MESSAGES

Sandy Walsh said...

My guess is the same as yours - because they were furry and warm. I had some white ones when I was really small (I still remember looking at them - the fur slightly blowing in the wind - as I was pulled around Verdun on my sleigh because I was the youngest kid) then got brown ones next. Then everyone was wearing those other ones that everyone seemed to have - brown with a buckle thing on the side to tighten them up so the snow wouldn't go down them.

Hi Wayne , when you are on your page/site then look up at the top right hand side & you will see where it says upgrade: - my accounts: - logout
..click on 'my accounts' which will then bring you to a page full of different selection options you can use on your site..one is 'Email Alerts' or "In Box Settings"you can have a copy of each message sent to any email you like....I send mine to a Gmail address where I have unending storage space.
Try that & that should do the trick for you Good luck HF&RV

Also Wayne ,when you click on 'In Box' at the top of this page, you should see 3 small boxs to either 'check' or not they are:
friends of friends , - Groups, - Only Unread
If you click on Only Unread ,it will then hilight all the messapges or posts that you have not read yet.........
also here's a couple of photos of the old 5th av restauarant, since you lived near it, you might spark some memories.

Hi Victah - It's is a wonderful time of the year with or without the snow although as you predicted we will be getting the white stuff tomorrow. Sounds like you are advanced in your shopping. For me, the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, trying to find that perfect gift for the family is exhausting but adds to make this time of year all the more special. The family get togethers are not as easy as they once were but hey you take what you get and enjoy the time you have. I’m sure I’m not alone being miles away from family and friend. It’s sad, life only goes forward but the good memories of the past will live on forever. If you have to travel take it easy to make sure you arrive safe and sound. Remember the best present is the presences of the family around the Christmas dinner table. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas Season. Pauline
